This a great exercise to do on any situation from our past.
Begin by thinking of a situation that you may regret or have resentment around. Now take a deep breath and let your mind be creative and wander.. let it come up with 5 positive things that came from this situation. Some of the positives might be lessons you learned or the strength and wisdom you gained on the other side of it. Now write these positive outcomes on a piece of paper. Begin to allow your focus on this event, in everyday life,  to change to the positive things you got out of it, replacing your old story about how horrible it was. It will take time but if we are willing to change our story in our head then we can find the negative emotions and beliefs of the past start to fade away. We still remember the event and all the lessons learned but the pain is removed. If you find to much resistant to find anything positive then doing a round of EFT tapping may release enough that you can be open to the positive.

You life starts as a blank page in a empty book. Many people including yourself write on the pages of your life or your book. Some are good things, some are bad. Some are true, some are lies. Sometimes someone writes something in your book they say is about you but it is really about them. As we get older we either accept everything written in our book as truth and unchangeable or we challenge it. If we accept everything and leave it as it is then we become controlled or are the victim of what is written there whether it was written by us or others. Whether it is true or not.  If we challenge it we evaluate the truth of those things written and get out our eraser and remove the things we determine are false about ourselves and the world. We will always remember those things were written there but they will no longer be in our story. We do have the power and right to question and challenge both what others write in our book and what we add to it. What we thought was true last year may not be what we think is true today and it is okay to remove it. It is our book and we are in control of what is written in it and what stays in it. You are the author of your own story and always have been.  This understanding has the power to change your whole life for the better. It has to ability, if you let it, to empower you and allow you to create your life just as you desire it to be. To let go of the past and develop a new story line for your future. Get out there and write your story!

Relaxing the Body

All to often we find our bodies just as tense and stressed out as out minds. In teaching Hypnosis we often use a technique called progressive relaxation. Progressive relaxation is used to train the body to relax and release stress it is carrying. In the Life Skills Manual from Rapid Eye Technology there is a great exercise teaching progressive relaxation and how it aids in releasing emotions held in the body that I am going to share with you today. First read through it then read it again practicing it then finally doing your best to follow the basics, lay down somewhere quite and go through the body in the fashion taught as often as you feel it benefits you. Here is the exercise:

" In this exercise, direct your attention to each area of the body; as this happens, the act of paying attention releases deep-stored stresses. Like a child, your body wants attention and feels comforted when it receives it.

Sit with your eyes closed in a comfortable chair or lie down. ( Choose a quiet room that is free of distracting noises) Place your attention on the toes of your right foot. Curl them down and hold, then go until they feel the sense of relaxation that flows into them. Don't rush either the tensing or the relaxing; take time to feel what is happening.

Now let out a long, deep sigh as if you are breathing out of your toes, letting all stored fatigue and tension flow away with your breath. Don't puff or blow; just let the sigh of relief, without holding back. If you let out a moan or groan, all the better- that is a sigh of release.

Now repeat this procedure with the top of your right food, first placing your attention on it, then tensing the muscles (by arching your foot backward), and finally relaxing them. When the top of your food feels relaxed, let out a sigh as if you are breathing out through your toes.

Once you have this basic technique down, take your attention to all parts of the body in the following order. Remember that this in not just a muscle relaxation technique; your attention needs to linger comfortably at each bodily location.

RIGHT FOOD: toes, top of foot, sole of foot, ankle ( two stages: flexing back then flexing forward)

RIGHT BUTTOCK and UPPER THIGH

LEFT BUTTOCK and UPPER THIGH

ABDOMINAL MUSCLES

LOWER BACK, UPPER BACK

RIGHT HAND: fingers, wrist ( two stages: flexing back then flexing forward)

LEFT HAND:  fingers wrist also in two stages as above

SHOULDERS: Also in two stages

NECK: Also in two stages

FACE: Also in two stages of screwing face into a tight grimace, then tensing brow and forehead.

This exercise sounds rather complicated when described verbally, but flexing various body parts simply follows the natural way the joints and muscles move. After one session you will be able to feel your way around your body effortlessly.

Short Version
A complete circuit of the body as described above takes about 15 minutes. If you are pressed for time, a short version involves only the toes, diaphragm, fingers, shoulders, neck and face."

Neither our minds or bodies need to be in a constant state of stress and tightness. Learning to relax both can greatly improve our quality of life.

Enjoy and Relax!

Belief + Feelings = Emotions

" Emotions are simply a belief plus a feeling. Sometimes people have a difficult time identifying their emotions or expressing them in a clear effective manner. Some may have used mood altering drugs to hide from painful emotions. Still others may attempt to show false emotions to gain some real or imagined advantage over people around them.
In the majority of cases, problems with feelings originated at an early age. People may have grown up in emotionally unhealthy families. As children they may have been abandoned in physical ways, such as being left alone, given inadequate food, clothing or shelter or been beaten or sexually abused. They may have suffered from emotional abandonment by being expected to meet unrealistic expectations and being verbally attacked for coming up short. Their feelings of trauma may have gotten trapped.
The Consequence is that people with troubled childhoods often have a difficult time recognizing and expressing their emotions."
RET Life Skills Manual

According to the Sadonna method we do 3 things with our feelings. We stuff them, feed them or release them. When I read this I looked back on my life. I felt this fit what I had done with my feelings. I was a feeder for the most part though there were times I stuffed too. I rarely released my feelings. One way I could tell is my past feelings/emotions kept getting triggered. My way of feeding was talking about them and trying to find others who would get on my train of pity and judgement. I would look for people who would tell me I was right to feel this way and the other person was totally wrong. When I read the Life Skills Manual I had a awakening. I remember the day and place I reliezed I was not seeing present life clearly but through all the beliefs and feelings I had about my past. If I had been in a movie they would of put a light bulb above my head as I understood this concept. My feelings had been a result of my beliefs and had clouded my vision and judgement of myself and others in my life. This was a big pill for me to swallow. I had always believed myself to be right in most things about emotional health. I was somewhat educated through counseling, life and school. How could it be that I had missed this concept all together? My negative beliefs and feelings were not being released and therefore not allowing me to see myself or others as we truly were and could be. That was 6 yrs ago. I am still on the road and find that once in a while I get stuck in place and have to dig myself out to move forward in my growing and learning. That is why I am so passionate about sharing the teachings in the Life Skills Manual. I hope one day that these concept will touch another person as they did me. That they will be awakened to the idea that they have power in their lives through their thoughts and beliefs. That the negative beliefs and feelings that create their lives currently can be released. Then they are free to create their life on purpose with power to choose the direction. There are so many ways to learn to release our beliefs and feelings. The one that worked the best for me are the ones I use in my practice with clients. EFT and Rapid eye have changed my life in every way. I encourage you to learn about these techniques and be open to letting them help you to create peace and happiness in your life.

The Universe is a Zucchini Plant.

The Universe is a Zucchini Plant??? What could that possibly mean???
If you have ever planted a zucchini plant you know that for one seed or plant you get many, many, many zucchini's that will produce for a long time. In fact most people are trying to give away their zucchini's by the end of the season. They have made many wonderful things with them like zucchini bread, pudding, casseroles and much more. They may of even put some of it away in the freezer for the winter. From one zucchini you could save enough seeds to plant a whole field of zucchini and soon your whole community could have more food then they could use. The same is true of sticker plants. They spread and over produce in your yard if allowed. In fact if you till them in instead of removing them they actually will come back worse. Which would you rather have something that produces food and meets you some of your needs 0r something that pricks you each time you get near it???
Most of us would pick the food option I am sure.
Well what does this have to do with the universe? Lets think about the principles of cause and effect and abundance. Cause and effect says that whatever we put out in to the universe/our world comes back to us and the principle of abundance says it comes back multiplied. We put thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions out into the world every second of every day. We never stop planting seeds in the our life. Some seeds grow easier then others and most we are unaware of. We become very automatic in our planting of seeds ( thoughts, words, and deeds) over time. Maybe we were taught to speak in a negative way or believe the worst of others through our families. Or maybe we had a few negative experiences and so we developed a belief about life centered around those experiences and ignored the positive experiences. Where ever they came from they are our seeds and we are responsible for planting them. It is true others can abuse us and treat us badly and it takes a bit of time to decide which seeds we want to take from that experience. Do we want the sticker bushes or the zucchini?
If we are unhappy with our life experience it is time to look at what seeds we are planting and do what we can to change the seeds to something that we want more of. If we are feeling anger then spend time around those who love us and learn to send love back to them. If we are feeling fear find situations where we feel courageous and feed those. The idea is to find the opposite of what we don't want to experience and create that in our lives.
Sometimes we need help from others to deeply release the negative beliefs that create the feelings that are planting the sticker bushes in our lives. EFT and Rapid Eye are very powerful tools to help people let go of old beliefs and the negative experiences they have created in their lives. You are in charge of your garden/life. Become aware and plant it well for an abundant crop.

What is Real?

" Perceptions form the basis of our opinions, our position in an argument, the quality of our relationships, our feelings, and even our quality of life. Just because we experience the world in a certain way does not mean the world actually exists that way. Paying attention to our perceptions is instrumental in making positive life changes. By perceiving our experiences differently, we tend to think, feel and do things differently." Life Skill Work Book

This concept changed my life more then any other one in the Life Skills Work Book. I remember the day the light turned on in my head with the idea.... I may not of always seen things the way they really were. That was crazy almost impossible for me to believe. I was always right. How could I possibly be wrong. How could I see others as I believed there were and not how they really were??? As hard as it was it was the most meaningful and life changing concept. I started to look around me and be curious about how things might be different then how I thought they were before. Maybe others were not feeling and thinking the way I thought they were. Maybe I was wrong sometimes and maybe the world did not revolve around my beliefs and feelings. What an idea! This concept led to much more patience with others and life inside of me. It was a change from the inside out. I am still practicing to view things from a neutral view instead of already judging in my head before things play out all the way. I also have learned to listen to others without forming a response in my head so I can truly hear what they have to say. When I teach this concept to a group I use sunglasses of varying darkness to help them see how there beliefs and feelings taint there ability to see what is really there. Through the glasses they cannot see the true color of an orange or apple. Each person will see a slightly different color depending on the tint of their glasses. They have to remove the glasses ( their beliefs and feelings) to see the true color of the fruit or anything else. Everything is tinted with the glasses on.
I challenge you to discover what negative beliefs and feelings you might be viewing the world through and start to challenge the truth of those beliefs and feelings. As you question it, the hold it has on your life will loosen and it will soon be as if you have removed your glasses and are seeing the world as it truly exists for the first time.
You have a new world to discover both inside and outside of yourself.
Get to it! :)

What is your emotional and vibrational direction?

Here is a great video on how we can start to consciously change our emotional and vibrational direction. It is about 15 minutes but well worth the time.
The forking Off Process

Now ask yourself am I aware of the direction I am creating in my life? Would I like it to be different?
EFT and Rapid Eye are some of the most powerful tools to help us change our emotional and vibrational direction in life. You can truly let of the old way of reacting and choose a new direction to manifest a new experience in life.
Next time you are in a negative place practice this idea of being present and forking just little towards the positive emotional response and see if it does not bring you more comfortable experience.

What is That Coming Out of Your Mouth???

You know the old saying " Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". That is a great saying when talking about others words toward you. However.. when we are talking about our own words to ourselves this is not a good mantra to follow. When we notice the words coming out of our own mouths it can help us discover what we believe about ourselves and the world around us. When listening to ourselves we can look for words like ... of course, I can't, never, always, should, I am, you are, people are, relationships are and many other black and white thinking that we notice.
Once we have noticed the negative we can begin to change our words to reflect what we would like to experience in stead. Through your words you can tear yourself down or build yourself up.

" The Power of Words

What you say is what you get. As our thoughts affect our circumstances, so do the words we say. Our words build our attitude and they determine what we will attract and experience.
When we get serious about being happy, we stand guard over our mouth. We choose to speak positively about ourselves and avoid running ourselves (and others) down. This is not to pretend that we are perfect, but is a part of realizing that you can't feel good about yourself by grizzling about yourself, your job, your friends and family and everyone else about you.
A fellow once said, " I 'm tired of being miserable and depressed. I'm tired of being a burden to my family. I want to be happy! How do I do it?" The first thing you can do is to open your mouth only when you have something positive and constructive to say. You will appreciate the change and so will your family! It is very simple.
When anybody has really, really had enough of being miserable, they change their attitude. They change the way they talk. It takes discipline, it takes effort, but it its still very simple. To discipline what we allow ourselves to think and say requires us to be different from the crowd. Excellence always does.
Some may adopt the attitude; " I'll do anything to be happier so long as I don't have to change anything about myself. "
Taken from Advanced Life Skills

Our thoughts, beliefs and words are ours alone. We have all the power and responsibility for what is in our mind and what comes out of our mouths. Often times we just pick up stuff as we go along in life and don't really notice the way we talk and how it influences our lives and what we attract into our lives. Personal responsibility is one of the keys to happiness and that can begin with what you allow yourself to say about you and the world around you. I challenge you to begin paying more attention to what is coming out of your mouth. Is it lifting you and others up? Is it feeding positive beliefs and feelings? Is it allowing growth and change? If not switch it up to something helpful instead and notice the difference. When someone really wants to change but is finding some resistance using EFT or Rapid Eye may help them to let go of whatever it is that is holding them back from moving in a more positive direction.
Hope you all are having a happy and productive summer.

10 Negatives Then 1 Positive. Words Affect Our Personal Power.

10 negatives then 1 positive. How many of us express ourselves this way? I have been very aware in my own home how my children interact with each other lately. It is amazing what you notice when you sit back and watch life around you unfold. I have 5 children and 3 are still under 18 and at home. As I have watched them lately I have noticed that the contention between them seems to have increased lately. Maybe it is all of them being either teenagers or close or something else. Whatever it is I have noticed that they say several negative things that are completely unnecessary each and every day. I rarely hear anything at this time positive come out of their mouths. Many times the statement is to point out how wrong someone is and why they are right. I myself try to speak positivity to them when interacting so this trend is really surprising and upsetting me. It makes our home a place that feels unhappy and defensive. However I did notice the other day while driving somewhere with my husband that we both were critical of each other. Each of us feeling defensive and needing to be right. Now I have worked on my need to be right a lot over the years and it is much better. It does seem though that I still have work to do.
I was reading in my teachers manual for Skills for Living this morning and came across a page talking about the power of words. I would like to share it with you. It sure helped me to become more aware of what is coming out of my mouth and how I can teach my children through improving my example.

" What you say is what you get. As our thoughts affect our circumstance, so do the words we say. Our words build our attitude and they determine what we will attract and experience.

Skill for Life Advanced Manual

I was thinking of how this applied to me and my family. My kids don't really talk bad about themselves but it shows it's self more in there need to correct someone when they are wrong. If one of them makes a statement the other is sure is wrong they will engage in a " I know more then you" way of talking. Through their words they have created a competitive and contentious relationship. The words we us to communicate do create our relationships as much as the actions we take. I will think about how I can be better example of speaking positive and also come up with something to help them be aware of their pattern of negative speaking and see if we can change the direction of the communication in our home together. I urge you to look at your relationships and notice your words about it and the words you us to talk to the other person. Are they mean, impatient and judgmental? or are they uplifting, healthy and kind? Which do you want to feed?

Harmony and Rhythm: The 7th Principle.

The final and last principle in the Life Skills is Harmony and Rhythm. Our lives and bodies have their own unique rhythm. In order for our lives to experience complete harmony we can learn to be aware of our special rhythm and allow ourselves to follow it. If you were to pay attention I think you would notice that when your life feels out of balance and harmony you are not following your true rhythm. For some it would be trying to be in rhythm with someone else. For others it would be giving in to their own unrealistic thoughts of how they "should" be.
It is important for us to slow down enough in life to know what our true rhythm is.

Here are some thoughts from the Life Skills Manual on taking time for ourselves.

" Nature always takes her time. Great oaks don't become great overnight. They also lose a lot of leaves, branches and bark in the process of becoming great. Diamonds aren't formed in a week either. Everything of value, of beauty, of majesty in the universe took time to become so.

So it will be with our own growth and development. Let us recognize the way things work down here, and so be gentler on us when assessing our own progress. It takes time to build confidence, to build a healthy body or positive outlook. It takes time to build a business of value or to create our own financial independence. In the real world there are very few instant, overnight successes.

As sure as the earth revolves around the sun and winter follows spring, so must our life move in cycles. So there will always be easy times and there will be hard times, as sure as one season follows another. One of the great challenges of life is dealing with the winter while you are waiting for things to get better. Things will get better. They always do. The trouble is that many people give up and go home too early. The tide will always turn.

Nature has a rest from time to time. The soil needs a rest, bears and snakes hibernate; even fish sleep with their eyes open. We can learn from this approach. We need to take time out; to rest, to review, to ponder, to be. "

Health and Healing: Mind, Body,Spirit

" Many of us have neglected the physical aspects of our body. Most who choose to enter into a therapeutic situation are undergoing great stresses. To assist yourself or anyone else; the physical must receive care as well as our emotional, mental & spiritual aspects. The idea that energy follows thought becomes readily apparent in the study of the Principle of Health and Healing.
Stated simply; you direct your mind; the mind directs the body.
Recently the field of psychosomatic medicine has experienced growth and acceptance as more people have become aware of the mind/body connection. This knowledge states that many or most of our troubles manifesting themselves as physical symptoms have their origin in mental or emotional stresses. Yes, stress is part of everyday life. Burning the supper, living with divorce, hosting a party, receiving a promotion, the vacation, losing a child, or living alone.... stress is a fact of life.
Stress can become very destructive. It can turn into "distress." It can gnaw away at you and sap your energy over the months and years. Distress can also come from less traumatic events, such as fighting with a loved one, expecting too much of yourself, turning every little set back into a crisis or sacrificing sleep to add a few minutes to your work day. We all have personal distress signals ( i.e. nausea, headaches, sweaty palms, agitation) .
Once your personal distress signals let you know that the stress in your life needs attention, the management decisions are up to you. Stress management doesn't mean getting rid of all stress. Rather, it means making thoughtful choices about which stress to keep and which to let go."
Taken from Life Skills Manual RET

EFT, Rapid Eye and Hypnosis can help you learn how to release and let go of traumatic stress and every day stress. All three are natural ways of helping the body learn how to manage beliefs and feelings in a positive way.

Be Do Have. Abundance and Gratitude

The 5th principle in the Life Skills is Abundance and Gratitude. The theme is very fitting as we approach Thanksgiving here in America.
" The universe operates on the principle that you always receive in abundance what you believe in or want. The law is in constant operation despite our level of understanding. For you to master abundance, you must be willing, fully and freely, to express yourself and your talents. To recognize abundance in your life, be willing to recognize that it is always available. Remove the blocks and open yourself to receive it.

Abundance is always focused into supporting your emotional state. If you think negative thoughts, beliefs or fears, the universe supplies you with experience in abundance to support them. Begin to notice the abundance you have. By noticing what you lack, you attract an abundance of scarcity.

So focus on what you like: friends, health, food, clothes, freedom, whatever it is you want in your life. The universe will always give you whatever you ask for. Since what you think about expands, you will receive even more. If you choose to think about lack, you will have an abundance of lack!

Noticing your abundance is how you put gratitude in to action to direct your abundance. The universe is much like you. If you were to give a gift to someone and they consistently pushed it away or acted like they were disinterested or unappreciative, you might get the idea that they were displeased with the gift and you might then send another gift or stop sending the original gift to the them. This is the basic understanding of gratitude. "

" Often it feels that life is a struggle. That is because of the way you have been taught to live goes directly against the way the universe works. Have you ever said something like this to yourself: I could be a really great musician if I only had a recording contract/ You may believe that you can't be something until you have the trappings that show that you are that something. According to Wally Minto, the universe works like this:

Spiritual Mental/Emotional Physical
Being Doing Having

Rather than this:
Physical Mental/Emotional Spiritual
Having Doing Being

When you feel that you must have something before you can do something before you can be something, life becomes a struggle. So much time is spent trying to have, you never get to be. The flow of the universe would have you first think of yourself as being a musician, then you would be able to perform as a musician, then you would have the things that a great musician would have. "

This month let's all practice this principle of having faith that there is enough in the world for everyone and being grateful for the things we do have in our lives that are wonderful and healthy. Turn your emotional energy to those things and watch miracles unfold.

Happy Fall Everyone!

What is the Cause and What is the Effect?

The forth principle of the life skills is Cause and Effect.
"The principle or cause and effect is known by many cultures and by many names. It is called Karma, "what goes around comes around", " The Law of the Harvest", or "as a man soweth , so shall he reap." The concept is the same, regardless of the name. It is cause and effect.
Consider the cycle of creation each thought goes through as it passes through the realms of mental, emotional, and physical development."
"The spirit body contains the power that creates our existence and all things we perceive in it. It's a little like electricity in that we fail to perceive it until we notice its effects. We call these perceptual awareness "miracles" because we fail to detect how normal they are. The spirit body is the source of all power and creative force, or life force, we experience here in this dimension. Our mental body is the directive body. The job of the mental facility is to make choices. It is the home of our ego and as such has the capability to view itself as the source of power, the creative force. Unlike the spirit body that enjoys all experiences, the mental body is concerned with our level of physical and emotional safety. It feels like it is it's job to protect us and defend us from potential attack. Nevertheless, the true function of the mental body is to direct energy.
The emotional body performs the necessary work of focusing our directed energy into the physical dimension. How you feel about your choice will largely determine the form in which it will manifest. Many of us find our lives so mysteriously confused and jumbled because we are unable to focus our emotions due to our past traumas and limiting beliefs.
Our physical body is, in a word, obedient. The entire physical dimension is designed to be obedient to our desires. When the body "dies" we become starkly aware of the weakness of the physical body when it is vacated by the other bodies.
So it is that your spirit provides the power; your mental body directs that energy; your emotional body focuses your energy into this dimension and an effect is then produced in the physical. This is the trail of cause and effect. In other words, you are the cause as well as the effect. "
" Energy flows out of our bodies like a signal or wave length from a radio or TV station. Each of us emits a very precise signal. Everyone and everything in our environment picks up these signals. However, only those who are on the same wave length respond to them, as only those radios and TV sets that are tuned to a particular station or channel will pick up the signal of the station or channel.
The result is that we attract into our lives those people and those circumstances which are in alignment with the energy signals we emit. If we are emitting signals of anger, we attract people and circumstances that bring anger into our lives. If we admit signals of happiness, we attract happiness into our lives. It is that simple. And it works that way all of the time, with no exceptions." Taken from Life Skills Manual RET
I think of this principle like the sail boat in the picture. It is at the mercy of the wind but if it sets it sail and chooses to take responsibility for the direction of the sail it will have a completely different results then if it just becomes a vicitim of the wind by not learning which way it to set the sail. It can experiment just like us. Making one choice and then see where it takes it. If it does not like the "effect" it can choose again. Sometimes we learn purely by trail and error but we can also watch how others do things and what result they get and make our choices based on the results they get. Take minute to think about your life. What do you seem to be attracting and seems to keep coming around again and again. If you notice a pattern take responsibility for your part and change " your sail" or choice to get a different effect. Try it and see what you think.

We Are a Product or Our Choices Not Our Circumstances

This is a picture of me in front of my old college apartment complex. This summer I took a trip back to my old college town 24yrs later. It was a very eye opening experience for me. It left me thinking deeply about how I believed my life would be by the time I hit my 40's and how my life is now. I can look back and see very specific choices I made along the way to get me where I am now in my life at 43. I continue to make choices daily to either keep me where I am or move in a different direction. Most of my choices were made with some consciousness but I was mostly unaware of unconscious beliefs that deeply influenced my choices, both for the good and bad.

The 3rd Life Skills Principle is Choice and Accountability, after Thought and Perception.
" Every new moment and every situation provides a new choice--an opportunity to do things differently and produce even better results,. Even though the answers are within us regarding most life situations, we tend to ignore what we know. we distrust our intuition and even set aside our own values. The result is more of the same-history is repeated, all for the sake of safety or familiarity."
" Every new situation offers us the opportunity to choose. By identifying when we are a point of choice (being conscious), and doing our own healing work, we position ourselves to influence the nature of the results and grow in the process.

When we find ourselves at point of choice, we can do one of two things:

1. We can REACT and drop down into our patten.
2. We can RESPOND and experience the learning."

" In a pattern cycle, our automatic, unconscious behaviors position us to react rather than respond to current situations. As a result, history and old behaviors, repeat. When we are in teh reactive or automatic mode, problems are placed "out there". We tell ourselves we are victims of others' actions. As long as we blame others, we remain ignorant about our contribution to the problem or what we can do to bring our a better result."

"Moving Beyond the Pattern
When we accept responsibility for choosing our response to life, we are empowered. We experience a new sense of freedom, growth, and energy. We move out of our comfort zone and begin stretching. We begin making a positive difference in our life.

Letting go of the past habits and patterns requires awareness, commitment, and risk taking. The following strategies can assist you:

*Teach yourself to "stop" then choose. Tap into your inner Wisdom. The answers are within.

* Determine what you want to create in your life; and set your intention (write down specifically - behaviorally).

* Clarify your values and principles

* Share your intention with a confident and ask for assistance and periodic feedback related to behavioral progress.

* Journal your experiences in choosing. Your journal can be an important resource in tracking your progress. "
Taken from The Rapid Eye Technology Life Skills Manual

If you are brave enough, take a look at your life and notice patterns of choices you make that get you results you don't want. Then be willing to step out and feel uncomfortable for a moment to try on a new choice and see where that choice takes you.

Get ready for a shift!

Perception: The Truth Changes Depending on Where YOU are Standing.

" Perception is our beliefs based on our experience. The way we perceive our present-day world is based on how our world has been perceived in the past, and the meanings we put on those experiences are based on that perception.
There is no right or wrong in perception. Perception simply "is"! It is made up of illusion and reality. Illusion is defined as anything that is temporary in nature, that was thought up by man, and had a perception placed on it. When two or more people agree on this illusion, it then becomes their reality.
Perception can make whatever picture the mind desires. This is especially important to remember in the way you perceive others. Whenever we judge anyone, we are really judging those aspects in our self."
" We are influenced more by what we think is so than what actually is so. Our perceptions of reality do more to govern our behavior than reality itself. When we learn to pay attention, we create the opportunity to switch from reacting to acting. "
" Perceptions form the basis of our opinions, our position in an argument, the quality of our relationships, our feelings, and even our quality of life. Just because we experience the world in a certain way does not mean the world actually exists that way. Paying attention to our perceptions is instrumental in making positive life changes. By perceiving our experiences differently, we tend to think, feel and do things differently."
" disagreements between individuals occur as each relies on his or her own perceptions of reality while locking out other options.
Experience results from our perceptions, which are filtered through such factors as our history, culture, values, desire, education, and awareness. Given our perceptions and filtering system, we begin to have a clearer understanding of why people struggle with understanding reality.
Changing perspective, or viewing the (situation) from a different view, enables us to discover something that now appears strikingly obvious. "Reframing" is the process of viewing the same situation from different perspectives and can be a powerful tool for enhancing awareness. Life experiences, whether at work or home, present many reframing opportunities.
We can discover a whole new world when we are open to the learning. When we are willing to move off our position, and be receptive to viewing things from a different perspective, our perception of our world will be different."

When studied and accepted this is the most powerful principle. Nothing has changed my life for the better then the principle that everything I see may not be as I see. I have learned to say often. I could be wrong and then look for the others person perspective and beliefs in the situation.
Practice this week noticing your perceptions and beliefs about the situation and then step back and find another truth.

Principle 1 : The Power of Thought. Choose a Direction

There are 7 principles to help you understand and apply the Law of Attraction. The first of these 7 is the principle of thought and how it directs our lives.

Think for a moment. Everything starts with a thought. Your home was first a thought in someone's mind. Your car started out in the mind of a designer or engineer. Everything that exists in the present moment was first a thought.
Thinking is a creative force. We are always thinking. There is never a second when we are otherwise engaged. Even in sleep or unconsciousness we are thinking; muscles require sleep, yet thought processes require no rest.
Some thoughts create corporeally, others die in the realm of thought. Some thoughts are meant to be created in our world and others are meant to remain thoughts only. Our thoughts reside in a realm that is free of the limitations of this world; that is, we are free to think anything we wish, we can also choose what you will think.
We control our reality by controlling our thoughts. Our world is exactly as we have created it. Dr. Deepak Chopra refers to the space between each thought as " The realm of infinite possibilities."
All thoughts are creative. "
" The principle of thought is; all thought is creative. We are creating our world at this very instant. It is precisely as we think it is, and the moment we take responsibility for our world will be the moment we take control of our world!"
" Thought is the principle that puts all other principles in motion. Nothing happens without thought.
All our worries, woes, troubles, enemies, poverty, and griefs have all been created by us. Though we may point the finger of blame ( projection) at someone else, we are doing the thinking in our own world. Perhaps it is time we took responsibility for our thoughts and change our thinking!"
" We can start by realizing that our thoughts are free. We may think any thought we want to think at any point in time. We can choose to imagine our world as perfect, just the way we want it to be: safe, exciting, challenging, successful, warm, comfortable, peaceful, full of friends and loved ones. We can, if we wish, think of our enemy as a friend in our thoughts. We can see our marriage as perfect in our thoughts.
We can imagine getting a raise, driving a new car, buying a new house, or boat. We can imagine anything - without limits. We can choose to imagine life as we would like it to be and than practice focusing our thoughts on that image. Act as if or "Be" the part.
To focus thoughts, remember that all thoughts are energy. Energy vibrates at various leves of intensity and frequency. Spiritual thought vibrates at a much higher frequency than does temporal, earthly, three-dimensional energy. In order for us to slow spiritual thought frequency down to manifest into our three-dimensional world, we must hold the thought until it manifest.
As we put energy focus into the thought, it becomes manifest in our three - dimensional world of substance. Most of the time, however, we send out thought vibrations in many directions at once, negating the effect of focusing. Therefore, our desired thoughts never take form in this dimension and we feel frustrated. You are probably familiar with the feeling of working hard at something just to see it fall apart. Maybe it was a relationship or a project at work. It seems, at times, no matter what the work is or how hard we work, our expected outcome will fail to manifest.
Traumatic memories are something else that can stand in the way of focusing thought. When positive thoughts are negated with traumas, the result is frustration. It is possible, however, to clear out the traumatic memories in the realm of thought...
The RET process works in the realm of thought. We work with the thoughts, rather than corporeal reality. RET is another way to clear neural distortions.
Truth is positive. Truth is forgiveness and love. It is knowing we are loved and worthwhile. We can free ourselves of the bonds of guilt and fear, see our great worth, let go of guilt and learn to control our thoughts. When we identify with the power of our own thoughts, there is nothing we are unable to do, no obstacles we will be unable to overcome. Faith is this power. It can literally move mountains in thought and in our lives. If we fail to change our thinking, the mountains remain. "
