Meet The Robinson's

This weeks post will be about a movie I watched this week with my kids. We rented a Disney movie called "Meet The Robinson's". The message in the movie was so profound that I just had to share it. If you don't want to have movie given away then you should probably stop reading now.
The story line was built on a boy who was left at an orphanage as a baby and his struggle to overcome such a devastating blow. His roommate also plays a important part in the plot. In fact it is really the roommates lesson that hit me so hard. This young boy faces a set back in a baseball game where he makes a big mistake of falling sleep in the outfield and they loose the game as result. He is told by a time traveling older self to " hold onto" these negative feelings and allow them to fester and let hate fuel his actions from now on. As a result he chooses to blame his roommate for his falling asleep in the outfield and sets out to ruin his life. There is alot of time travel in the movie and at the end the main character tells his roommate that he messed up his own life and that it wasn't his fault. The roommate then says another profound statement. It is something like this... Lets see... take responsibility for my own life or blame you.... I choose BLAME YOU! This statement spells our so plainly what so many of us do that have been victimized. We choose to "Hold onto" the pain and hurt as this boy did. I found it quite profound that when this roommate reveled himself to the main character he still had the baseball uniform on that he was wearing as a kid on that terrible day.. wow how powerful that he had refused to change these way to small and terribly dirty clothes as a way of holding onto the pain and suffering he had endured. In the end of the movie the main character returns to the past and wakes up his roommate in the outfield and as a result he catches the winning ball, changing his life. There was an alternate ending on the DVD that I preferred though. The main Character takes the roommate back in time and he wakes himself up and changes own destiny. He then says ... wow all this hate and suffering and all I had to do was wake myself up..

Are you ready to wake yourself up?

Faith... acting as if.

We are the creators of our worlds. We get to the choose the foundation we build our life upon. Universal truth is self evident. IF you wonder if what you perceive is truth go inside and ask yourself, " Does this acknowledge and support the magnificent being that I am ?"
Faith is the exercise of the " Act as if" principle. In other words, we become what we act. Acting is a great professions and we pay highly those who become really adept at it for our entertainment. Consider for a moment that we are all actors on our perceptual stage. WE act out our perception of who we think we are constantly. When we perceive ourselves a s inadequate, Foolish, or unworthy, we tend to " act as if" and model those qualities, becoming more inadequate, foolish, and unworthy. Since we are always completely faithful to our performance, We become what we act, thereby fulfilling our perception of ourselves. What's more, we even have the faith to create scripting for other actors to play with us. That is, we perceive how others will act for us, too. We are literally creating our won world around us with our perception and faith. It is true that whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve." Taken from Rapid Eye Life Skills Manual.

When I first started to understand this principle I looked back on my life to find expamples of how this might of worked for me. I was reminded of on time when I was a teenager and my mother wanted me to attend a dance. I was resistent as I was quite shy and was sure that no one would want to dance with me. I finally gave into her pushing and attended. I spent the whole night standing against the wall with my arms folded and a scawl on my face. Of course no one was brave enough to ask this angry girl to dance. I went home and informed my mother that I was right and she was wrong. I had fulfilled my own prophecy with my own behavior. If I had acting differently at this dance I am sure that I would of been asked to dance. However I just could not adjust yet my belief about who I was and what I deserved in life. I have often looked back on this very obvious situation and reminded myself that I still have the same amount of power in my life to create negative or postiive experiences.

Being Grateful For The Future

Last weeks theme was being grateful for the past lessons learned, this week is looking to the future and painting a positive picture of it in our minds. Expressing gratitude for the future that has not come yet but that we hope for gives it more strength. It moves it from wish full thinking to wish fulfillment.

What to do: Make a list of exactly you want in your future. Not what you think is possible but what you truly want and desire.

Create statements in present tense expressing gratitude for those gifts and situations.

Express those statements out loud.

Use EFT on any that do not sound true to you to release any blocks you might have to creating this positive future.

Being Grateful For The Past

I have taken a little break from my blog but have found some time to start focusing on this important thing again. I choose today the topic of gratitude as we are entering the month of November and the holiday season. We typically look at our lives and our families at this time finding that which we are thankful for. I would like to share a quote from the Rapid Eye Life Skills Manual about shifting our view of negative past events into some form of gratitude.

" It is impossible to change the events of the past. We can however, change the way we feel about those events. Those people who seemed to bring us pain and hardship were our teachers presenting us with challenges that helped us to grow."

The past holds for most of us painful and difficult events. Our growth and healing comes when we are able to grow out of the pain and suffering and learn the lessons those challenges have to teach us. When we shift our reaction to the past then our present becomes free to create positive instead of negative from the past. We then release the power the past has on us. We step into our own power in the present and become awake and aware of our true potential and life path. Grateful for the lessons learned and looking forward to the future.

If you are ready to let go of some of your past make a list of the events you would like to let go of and use EFT on each of those events and all of the aspects of those events. In your EFT add in a statement of gratitude for the lessons learned and the opportunity to let go of the negative feelings and beliefs from this event.

Creating Your Future With Your Past and Present

Choose Your Steps With Intention

I have been lately reflecting on the choices that we make in life that seem to be without much consequences. I can look back on my life and see some of the seemingly smallest choices I have made in life have led me down the some of the most life changing paths. It is important that we are aware that we are always at choice and with the choices we are making now, not matter how small they seem we are creating our future. Becoming aware of the ability to create our own present and future is key to our happiness in life. In recognizing our ability to create our own life we are no longer victims and feel empowered, as we should to create peace and happiness in life. It all comes from what is within our own selves. Become aware of what is inside of you and begin now to create peace and acceptance within you own mind and watch it naturally unfold in your outside world.

Work Book Excerpt for the fear of public speaking

Excerpt From Liesl's soon to be published workbook about overcoming the fear of public speaking using hypnosis and EFT.

"So first we learn that our thoughts and beliefs are intertwined in a way that we cannot separate. Our emotions are a direct result of our beliefs. Lets say you are someone who has no concern about what other people think about you because you believe it has no impact on your life and people can think what they want, you know you are good person etc. So when you have the thought that someone is judging you there is no disruption in your energy system and no emotional reaction. You just let it go and move on. You believe that it really doesn’t matter. Now let’s say you have a belief that if others are judging you it means something about you, something bad. Now you have a disruption in your energy system leaving you with a negative emotional response.

If you do this while being in the emotional response or talking about the feeling or belief then you are able to balance the bodies energy system in relation to that specific belief and feeling. When the belief is changed and the energy system balanced then there is no negative emotional response. "

The Cycle of Thought and Creation

"Cycle of Thought
Consider the cycle of creation each thought goes through as it passes through the realms of mental, emotional and physical developement.
The spirit body contains the power that creates our exsitance and all things we percieve in it. It's a little like electricity in that we fail to percieve it until we notice its effects. We call these perceptual awarenesses "miracles" because we fail to detect how normal they are. The spirit body is the source of all power and creative force or the life force we experience in this dimension.
Our Mental body is the directive body. The job of the mental facility is to make choices. It is the home of our ego and as such has the capability to view itself as the source of power, the creative force. Unlike the spirit body that enjoys all experiences, the mental body is concerned with our level of physical and emotional safety. The mental body thinks it's job is to protect us and defend us from potential attack. Nevertheless, the true function of the mental body is to direct energy.
The emotional body performs the necessary work of focusing our directed energy into the physical demension. How we feel about our choice will largely determine the form in which it will manifest. Many of us find our lives confused and jumbled because we are unable to focus our emotions due to our past traumas and limiting beliefs. "
Take from The Skills For Life Manual from Rapid Eye.

Weekly Affirmation

I have decided to add a weekly affirmation to my blog. Today is the first one.

" I choose to accept and create success in my life. I open myself up to the many ways I can experience success in my life. I let go of any and all self-limiting beliefs and thoughts I might have about myself and life quickly and comfortablly."

Repeat this affirmation at least one time daily. If you are familiar with EFT you can tap while repeating.

In order to make affirmations the most powerful we must release negative beliefs and thoughts at the same time. Then the postitive naturally slips in the place that the negative use to be. If we are not releasing the negative beliefs and thoughts positive affirmations can help us but not as quickly or easily.

If you do not already know EFT then you can learn more about it at:

Joyfully,

Stars Use Hypnosis to Stop Smoking.

Tuesday on Oprah Ben Affleck talked about how he and Matt Damen stopped smoking using hypnosis.
Hypnosis is the number one technique stars use to stop smoking.
Ellen used it on her show recently to stop smoking. Ellen even had the hypnotist come on her show and do part of it on air.
Why do the stars pick hypnosis when they need to kick the habit.
Because it works that is why. They understand the need to work with the subconscious mind in dealing with habits and addictions.
Great Job Ben and Oprah for helping more people understand that hypnosis works when dealing the smoking habit.

10 Secrets to Succeeding at New Years Resolutions: Success at Last.

10 Secrets to Succeeding at New Year Resolutions:
Success at last.

If you apply these 10 secrets to your New Years Resolution or any other goals you will find greater success. Your results will be easier and longer lasting with out all the struggle and disappointment.
When your conscious and sub-conscious mind is aligned with the same goal success is natural.

Pick a resolution YOU really want. Make sure you are invested 100% in this goal. If you are doing it for your wife/husband, kids or boss you will find it more difficult. Motivation runs out fast when it is not really what YOU wanted in the first place.
Write it down and put it where you can see it with a date to accomplish the goal. Be realistic.
Break it down in little steps. Make it easy for yourself.
Create a positive affirmation stated in the future as if you have already accomplished it. An example would be: “ I weight 130lbs. I love exercising and my body is healthy and strong. I eat healthy meals and enjoy my food.” State this affirmation each day at least one time.
Consider using techniques that help you identify and release any resistance you might have in your sub-conscious mind to achieving your goal. When we fail at a goal that we really want we usually have some sub-conscious resistance to achieving the goal. An example might be: If you wanted to stop smoking on the conscious level but your sub-conscious mind wanted to hang onto the habit to manage stress in your life in a familiar way. If the sub-conscious was not brought on board with the goal then the change will not happen. Some techniques that can help change sub-conscious sabotage are: Hypnosis, Rapid Eye Technology & Emotional Freedom Techniques.
Reward yourself for any movement in the direction of your goal. Find something that you really want or enjoy and reward yourself with it when you hit big bench marks but remember to reward yourself daily with something smaller each day you move in the right direction.
If you slip backwards do not give up. Forgive yourself and ask yourself what might be blocking you and if you need to adjust your goal or change the date of accomplishment. Be realistic with yourself about what you can accomplish in the time given.
In list a friend or coach to help keep you on task and focused. There is safety in numbers. It is great if you have someone who is trying to accomplish the same goal that you can lean on in time of need. If you know someone is waiting for example at the gym to workout with you then you are a lot more likely to follow through. But you can choose someone who is not working toward the same goal but can be a good support in the way you need it. Make sure your personalities match with your motivation style. Do you need a gentle style or a more rigid style of motivation?
Determine how you are personally motivated. People are either motivated towards something positive or away from something negative. About 70% of us are motivated away from the negative. Find out how you are motivated and use that to your advantage. If you are motivated by positive then really make a big deal of the positive you will receive when you accomplish the goal. If you are motivated by negative then emphasize the negative. However as you move toward the positive rewards of the goal then start to switch your emphasis towards the rewards of the goal and away from the negative of not accomplishing the goal. An example would be if you wanted to lose weight the negative would want to get away from the health problems and the way you look. But as you move closer to the goal start to focus more on how wonderful you are feeling and looking.
See yourself already there. Take 10 minutes each day to close your eyes and see your goal already achieved. Feel what it feels like to be successful. Involve all of your senses in this imagery. If your sub-conscious mind can see you there and feels good about it you will succeed.
